i know nothing of slumdog millionaire but shaft in africa is awesome.
Actually, the co-director is named Loveleen Tandan and she's Indian, she was just shafted from all the nominations.
And it's based on a book by Vikas Swarup (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikas_Swarup), and Indian author.
